Our commitment
Cognito Consultants Ltd (company number 12928272) is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045 for its UK operations.
This commitment covers:
- scope 1 emissions (direct emissions from sources the company owns or controls)
- scope 2 emissions (indirect emissions from the electricity, steam, heat or cooling the company buys)
- the scope 3 emissions in the subset defined by NHS England: upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, and downstream transportation and distribution.
We are taking steps to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions over time. We hold meetings by video call where that works for the client. We travel by public transport where practical, and for short journeys within London we use e-bikes.
Why we make it
Climate change is a major risk to health and wellbeing. Much of our work is in health and social care. NHS England aims to reach net zero by 2045 for the emissions it can influence. These include emissions from the goods and services it buys from suppliers. We have chosen the same year. As a supplier, we want to play our part, in proportion to our size.
